Our Story
Polaris is a little corner restaurant in La Sandia, Playa del Ingles, Gran Canaria. The restaurant recently changed hands and have gone through a really nice face lift, both regarding the atmosphere and the food.
The new owners, Ulf and Tina, are a Swedish couple with a part of their roots in Gran Canaria. They have been working in the restaurant business all over Europe and finally they settled down at southern Gran Canaria. The 15th of October 2023 they finally opened this cute and cosy new star in the neighbourhood - their own restaurant.
THE CREW
Ulf is the Master Chef, and Tina is the queen of the business in the dining area and the bar. Besides creating fab food and serving big smiles, good advices and great coctails, both speaks english, spanish, german and swedish - in this restaurant you can be sure to be understood.
Alongside Ulf, in the kitchen, you will find the young chef Anton, hand picked from the best chef school in Sweden.
"Finally we have our own restaurant! After half a life of learning the business, finding our own call and creativity, pinpointing techniques, joys and beliefs in this world of food, we now embrace this chance of ours to put our own little star in the resturant sky. The Polaris star.
We want our guests to feel relaxed and comfortable at our place, no fancy modern style with stiffened white table cloths. Instead we are embracing table cloth wrincles - our focus is impressing by taste and good service. "

Fantastisk mat och himla trevlig service med svensktalande servitris. Blev bjudna på Cava när vi kom. Åt oxfilé och entrecote perfekt kött med helt underbara tillbehör och såser. Kommer definitivt tillbaka 🤩"
